Who operates the Cumberland Valley Railroad Museum?
The Cumberland Valley Rails-to-Trails Council (CVRTC) was formed in 1992. An all-volunteer organization, the CVRTC has developed the old Cumberland Valley Railroad line into a multi-use trail that stretches across Cumberland County. In 2018, the CVRTC asked several Shippensburg University History alumnae to design the Cumberland Valley Railroad Museum. With the assistance and support of CVRTC leadership, regional historical organizations, and railroad enthusiasts, the work was completed in the summer of 2018. Volunteers, including Shippensburg University students and alumni, will continue to develop the museum’s exhibits and programming.
